How to Change an Oven Light in a GE JVM1490 Microwave

The GE JVM1490 is an over-the-counter microwave, with a hood fan and light on the bottom of the appliance to illuminate the cook top's surface below. The interior of the microwave has a light that turns on when the microwave door is opened and when the oven is in operation, so that the contents of the interior cavity can be seen. This light can eventually burn out after regular usage. It can be quickly replaced with a new bulb with little difficulty.
