Instructions

    • 1

Take the microwave hood out of the container and look at the top of it. The mounting plate will most likely come attached so you can see how they fit together. Remove the screws that hold the mounting plate on with a Phillips screwdriver in a counterclockwise direction and put them in a safe place.

    • 2

Use a stud finder to find the studs in your mounting area and mark them location with a pencil.

    • 3

Hold the mounting plate in your mounting area. Mark the screw hole that are on the mounting plate with a pencil and drill holes for them. You will recognize the screw holes as the small circles on the mounting plate.

    • 4

Attach one or more wood screws through the holes that lie on the area where you marked the stud. Use toggle bolts to mount the rest of the mounting plate.

    • 5

Open the cabinet above the hood location. Place the template that should have come with your hood in this area and drill holes in the areas that it designates. These will be for the top supporting screws and power cord.

    • 6

Install the exhaust adapter in the cabinet area as well. This will be the part that attaches to your pre-existing ducting.

    • 7

Grab your microwave and install it with the top pointing upward. Align the exhaust adapter screws with the corresponding holes in the microwave hood.

    • 8

Push the power cord of your microwave through the cabinet hole.

    • 9

Find the two lower tabs that are on your mounting plate and hook the back ledge of your microwave into them. You will want to tilt the microwave forward while you do this so you can have better access and it will hook better in this position.

    • 10

Use a screw to hold the microwave in place through the top center cabinet hole. Screw the rest of the screws into place through the cabinet. Tighten the screws until snug.

    • 11

Install the grease filters in the appropriate slots if they are included with your microwave.

    • 12

Connect your pre-existing exhaust ducting to the exhaust adapter in the cabinet. Seal them together with duct tape.

    • 13

Remove any other packaging from the unit and plug the microwave in.
