The microwave oven is now an essential appliance for any household kitchen. We are used to heating ready meals and reheating leftovers for a quick snack, but the microwave oven does have a limited shelf life. Old microwave ovens can become a hazard in the home if the seals are perished and no longer work properly. Undercooked food and interior sparking are telltale signs that a microwave needs replacing. Government guidelines advise that old microwave ovens should not simply be thrown out in garbage and wheelie bins.
