Instructions & Information for the Oster OMW1199 Microwave

Oster manufactures a variety of home kitchen appliances, such as coffeemakers, juicers, blenders, waffle makers, toasters and microwaves. Several consumer models of microwave are available in the Oster line, including the OMW1199, which is actually part microwave, part indoor grill. If you have an Oster OMW1199 in your home, you can operate the unit just as you would operate many other standard microwaves.

      Set the OMW1199 on an even surface in your kitchen, such as a countertop. Avoid putting the microwave near the stove, where the heat from the burners and the humidity from boiling foods can damage the interior components. Make sure the microwave has an 8- to 10-inch clearance above it.

      Plug the microwave into an electrical outlet and set the correct time on the clock. Access the clock's settings by pressing the "CLOCK SET" button for three seconds. When the clock time blinks, turn the "Time" dial to set the hour, press the "CLOCK SET" button again, then turn the "Time" dial to set the minutes and press "CLOCK SET" to save the setting.

      Insert the glass microwave turnplate into the OMW1199 for microwave cooking. Place the food you want to cook on the microwave setting on a microwave-safe plate or in a microwave-safe container, and set it on the the glass turnplate in the microwave. To use the grill functions, remove the glass turnplate from the OMW1199 and place the grill rack into the unit instead. Place the piece of meat or other item you want to grill directly onto the grill rack in the unit.

      Set the cooking time for the microwave or grill feature. To microwave, press "Power" until you get to the power level you desire, then turn the "Time" dial to set the time you want the food to cook. To grill, press the "Grill" button, then turn the "Time" dial to change the cooking time.

      Press "Stop/Cancel" at any time to interrupt the microwaving or grilling process.
