Sanyo offers four types of microwaves: compact, midsize, convection/grill combo and family size. The compact models do not take up a lot of room on your counter, and Sanyo offers one model in 2011: the EM-S2588W/B. It offers two mid-size models in 2011: the EM-S5120W and EM-S6588S. These models offer between 1 and 1.2 cubic feet of space. The convection and grill combo is the EM-C6786V model in 2011. This oven acts like a standard microwave, a convection oven and a grill. The family size model in 2011 is the EM-S9515W model, which offers up to 1.4 cubic feet of space.
Enter the cooking time in minutes. For example, for 1 hour of cooking time, input 60 minutes. Use the time or weight defrost to defrost foods before cooking them. The time defrost uses a time setting, and the weight setting allows you to input the weight of the food item in ounces. Depending on the model, you have preset programs for food items such as fish, pizza, potatoes and popcorn. For the convection and grill combination model, press either the "Grill" or "Convection" button to use these settings.
Use warm, soapy water and a cloth to clean your Sanyo microwave, and wipe up spills as they occur. Clean your microwave at least once a week, including cleaning the turntable, turntable roller and the area beneath it. You can clean both the grill rack and turntable in the sink. Do not use rough pads or harsh detergents to clean the microwave. Remove any food or grease from the door panel and frame. Press "Stop/Clear" if you hit any cooking settings while cleaning.
Verify that your microwave is connected to an outlet if it won't come on. Unplug and reconnect the power cord to reset the microcomputer if it won't start when you first plug it in. Clean the turntable if it makes noise. Remove any metal items from the Sanyo microwave if you see sparks, and don't use cookware with silver or gold lining. Press "Start" to begin the cooking process, and replace a burnt-out bulb if the oven light won't come on. The microwave normally creates steam during the cooking process.
