How to Unlock a Maytag Microwave

Maytag manufactures many types of microwave ovens, in built-in, over-the-range and counter-top models. One common feature amongst all Maytag microwaves is a child lock feature. The child lock feature prevents the buttons on the control panel from functioning when pressed and will ensure that a child cannot accidentally turn on the microwave. Once you are ready to resume cooking with your microwave, you can easily turn off the child lock, which unlocks the microwave control panel.

     Locate the "Enter/Start" button on the microwave's control panel.

     Press and hold the "Enter/Start" button.

     Release the "Enter/Start" button after three seconds to unlock the control panel.
