Troubleshooting Microwave Oven Buttons on a Touchpad

Microwaves are made by several manufacturers and come with a wide variety of features, including specific food settings, convection cooking, warming mode, delay start, automatic defrost, variable power levels, rotating turntable and an electronic control panel. If users experience problems with the touchpad on a microwave, there may be several reasons for the issue that can easily be resolved through troubleshooting.

      Press the "Stop/Cancel" button and hold for 3 seconds to release the "Child Lock" feature if activated.

      Open and shut the microwave door and press "Stop/Cancel" to cancel any previously programmed settings, such as a delay start, that may prevent new options from being programmed.

      Use a damp cloth to wipe the touchpad clean if there is debris or sticky material on the touchpad that may be preventing proper function.

      Turn off and unplug the microwave. Wait several minutes and restore power to perform a complete reset of the microwave. Make a new touchpad selection and press "Start" to start the microwave.
