Unplug the microwave from the wall outlet.
Slide the grease filters toward the inside of the microwave and then use the tab to pull the filters downward. The grease filters are located on the underside of the microwave.
Soak the grease filters in a solution consisting of hot water and mild dish soap.
Scrub the filters using a sponge to remove grease, dirt and other residue.
Allow the filters to dry and then reinstall them into the microwave. To reinstall, slide one end of each filter into the slot in the rear of the filter slot and then push the filter up into place.
Unplug the microwave from the wall outlet.
Open the microwave door and remove the mounting screws from the sides of the grill, located above the cooking cavity.
Slide the grill to the left, then tip the grill forward and remove it from the microwave.
Lift the charcoal filter, which is a flat, metal screen, and pull it straight out of the microwave.
Insert a new charcoal filter into the filter housing.
Reinstall the front grill by sitting bottom of the grill into the grooves, then sliding the grill to the right until it locks into place. Replace the mounting screws to secure the grill into position.
