Locate the studs on the wall where you plan to hang the R-1600 Microwave using a stud finder. To hang the microwave, you must have studs that measure 16 or 24 inches apart.
Remove the Phillip's screw in the top center of the plastic louver located over the door using a screwdriver. Press on the tabs at each end of the louver and remove the louver from the microwave.
Remove the two screws revealed after removing the louver and then pull the mounting bracket off the microwave. The mounting bracket wraps around the sides and back of the microwave.
Locate the tabs on the front of the microwave now accessible when you removed the louver. Slide the charcoal filter supplied with the microwave into the tabs. This filters the air recirculation from the microwave and eliminates microwave odors when cooking food.
Hold the mounting bracket onto the wall and center it over your studs. Place a level on top of the bracket and position the bracket so it rests level on the wall. Mark mounting holes A, B, C and D found on the mounting bracket onto the wall for the installation of toggle bolts unless one of those holes rest over a stud. All other holes not labeled A, B, C or D must rest over the studs.
Drill a hole through A, B, C and D that measures large enough to put the toggle bolt butterfly nut through, using a hand drill and drill bit.
Place the bracket onto the wall, level it and then insert the toggle bolts. Drive wood screws into all other holes on the bracket that rest over the studs. The toggle bolts and screws are supplied with the unit.
Position the microwave against the bracket and snake the electrical cord to the outlet. In most cases, the outlet is located in a cupboard above the microwave mounting location.
Line up the tabs on the front of the bracket with the two screw holes on the front of the microwave from which you removed the screws in step three. Secure the microwave to the bracket using a screwdriver.
Snap the louver into place onto the microwave.
Thread the screw that you removed in step two back into the top center of the louver.
