Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the microwave or shut off the circuit breaker that supplies it with electrical current. This is a safety precaution that should be observed when performing any repair on an electric appliance.

    • 2

Open the microwave door. Notice that the GE microwave door has two hinges, one at the top and one at the bottom.

    • 3

Pry off the inner door screen using a standard screwdriver. Circle around the inner screen several time, gently prying it off with the screwdriver blade.

    • 4

Remove the screws that secure the grill vent, if you have a built-in model of GE microwave oven. Remove the vent once the screws have been removed.

    • 5

Lift the door off its hinges.

    • 6

Separate the inner door screen on the new door from the rest of the door and place the door on the hinges. Snap the inner door screen onto the door and replace the grill vent if there was one. Restore power to the microwave.
