How to Install a Goldstar MV1608

Installing an under-cabinet microwave, like the Goldstar MV1608, allows you to take advantage of extra counter space. The Goldsar MV1608 is designed to hang under an alcove built into your kitchen cabinets. It is attached to a mounting plate screwed into the wall. This plate ensures that the microwave will remain solidly in place during use. Installing this plate requires a few tools and the templates that came with the microwave.

Instructions

  Locate and mark the studs with the pencil in the location you will be installing the microwave. Place the center of the wall template in the center of the space. Tape the template to the wall and mark the hole guides centered over the studs.

  Drill the holes marked on the template. Remove the template and hold the plate to the wall. You may need an extra set of hands to hold it in place while you install the plate. Secure the plate to the wall using the screws.

  Tape the upper-cabinet template under the cabinet to mark the location of the plug and mounting holes. Open the cabinet and remove any objects within. Drill the holes under the cabinet with the drillbit. Drill out the hole for the plug using the hole saw.

  Lift the microwave and place it on the mounting tabs on the plate. Feed the cord through the hole and secure the top of the microwave with the provided mounting screws. Plug in the microwave.
