Instructions

    • 1

Unpack the materials and check to be sure all installation components are present, including the top cabinet template, two wood screws, four toggle bolts with wing nuts, three self-aligning machine screws, two nylon grommets and two pieces of foam tape.

    • 2

Remove the screws attaching the mounting plate to the back of the microwave. Discard the screws and set aside the mounting plate.

    • 3

Locate the wall studs in the desired location using a stud finder or by probing the wall with a hammer and nails. Draw a line down the wall using the straight edge to mark the center of each stud.

    • 4

Remove any decorative cabinet trim that will interfere with the installation of the microwave.

    • 5

Use the mounting plate as a template for positioning the microwave by aligning it against the back wall under the cabinet above your stove. Ensure the width of this space is between 30 to 36 inches and the clearance between the bottom of the cabinet and the top of your stove is at least 30 inches.

    • 6

Place the mounting plate aside. Draw a vertical line down the center of the mounting location.

    • 7

Align the mounting plate to this center line by using the notch at the bottom of the plate as a guide. Check that the mounting plate is level.

    • 8

Mark inside the two holes at the top of the plate and two holes at the bottom of the plate with a pencil. Put the mounting plate aside.

    • 9

Drill holes in your marked locations. Use a 3/16-inch drill bit for holes that match up with studs. Use a 5/8-inch drill bit for holes that do not match up with studs to allow for a toggle bolt.

    • 10

Prepare the microwave exhaust according to one of the following options: For top exhaust, no modifications are necessary. For outside back exhaust, install the exhaust adaptor which ships attached to the top of the microwave. For inside exhaust, install carbon filters, which are sold separately.

Drill holes and cutouts on the top cabinet using the top cabinet template provided in the package using. Make the exhaust cutout noted on the template only if you plan to use the top exhaust option.

    • 12

Mount the microwave on the mounting plate.

    • 13

Thread the electrical cord through the top cabinet cutout and attach the microwave to the top cabinet using the self-aligning machine screws.

    • 14

Check that the damper operates correctly if you are using the outside back or top exhaust options.
