Locate the three-pronged electrical outlet required for safe operation of your microwave. Ideally, this outlet should be near the space where the microwave is to be installed over the stove. Call a certified electrician to install a properly rated three-prong electrical outlet if you do not have one available in the space where you wish to mount the microwave.
Remove the mounting brackets from the microwave unit. Use the screwdriver to loosen and detach the screws and plate from the rear of the microwave.
Use the tape measure to measure the distance between holes on the bracket that are to be used to mount the bracket to the wall. Draw a rectangle on the pad and note the measurements on the drawing that correspond to the real locations on the wall.
Use a pencil or chalk and the tape measure to mark the locations for drilling on the wall and cabinets. Hold the brackets up against the markings to verify they line up with the holes in the bracket. Make any necessary adjustments.
Determine how the microwave will vent air. Use the drywall saw to cut a rectangular space in the wall to access the vent to expel air into the wall or roof. Look at the rear of the microwave and measure the dimensions of the rear exhaust. Note the size of the opening and use these measurements to make the correct incisions into the wall where the microwave is placed.
Drill into the markings on the wall and cabinet to make space for the bracket screws. Next, attach the microwave brackets to the wall using the supplied bolts or screws.
Attach the microwave to the install brackets. Make sure to orient the power cable in the right direction toward the outlet before fully securing. Screw the microwave into the brackets as instructed on your Magic Chef model. Ensure screws are fully tightened with the screwdriver.
Plug the microwave into the wall and set the time according to the instructions in the manual.
