How to Troubleshoot a GE JVM2050WH03

The GE JVM2050WH03 is a microwave oven designed for installation over a kitchen range that features a 2 cubic foot capacity, sensor cooking controls, quick defrost option, dual-distribution heating system and adjustable ventilation system. The microwave is no longer being manufactured by GE, which may make finding solutions when problems arise with the unit a little more difficult for some homeowners, but troubleshooting efforts are still possible.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the GE microwave oven if it will not start and then plug it back in, verifying that the power cord is fully inserted. Replace or reset the fuse or circuit breaker if necessary and make sure the microwave door is securely closed and latched before use.

    • 2

Push and hold "Clear/Off" for three seconds to unlock the control lock mechanism, which can be set to prevent children from operating the appliance.

    • 3

Wait for the time to finish counting down if "Sensor Error" appears on the display, which means the door was opened before the sensors could detect any steam inside the microwave. Add time to the microwave by pressing "Time Cook" and adding time with the number pads, then "Start."

    • 4

Press the number buttons to enter the correct time of day if the microwave makes a low-sounding beep. Press "Clock" to confirm the time and allow other entries to be made on the control panel.

    • 5

Manually enter in time to be cooked if "Sensor Reheat" blinks when a large amount of food is set inside the microwave. The "Sensor Reheat" function is designed for single servings only.

    • 6

Plug the microwave into a different outlet if television or radio interference is noticed during use. Move the television or radio further away from the microwave if possible.
