Open the kitchen cabinets to check for venting inside. The LG microwave can be connected to a vent or you can use the recirculating charcoal filter supplied with the appliance.
Attach the rectangular damper and damper flap to the matching outline on the top of the microwave, using the supplied screws if venting outside. Otherwise, attach the rectangular charcoal filter.
Hold the supplied cardboard template for the mounting bracket against the wall, centering the template below the cabinets. The template must touch the bottom edge of the cabinets on the back wall. Make a pencil mark in each of the template holes as a guide to drilling pilot holes in the wall.
Drill a 3/16-inch pilot hole at each pencil mark.
Connect the mounting bracket to the wall with supplied toggle bolts and a screwdriver. The toggle bolts fit through the bracket and into each pilot hole in the wall.
Hold the microwave in position at the bracket while a friend makes pencil marks on the underside of the cabinet to align with the mounting holes on the top of the microwave.
Lift the power cord behind the microwave on the back right side and place the plug against the underside of the cabinet. Draw a 1-inch diameter circle on the underside of the cabinet around the microwave plug. This is the insertion point for the power cable.
Drill 3/16-inch holes for the mounting bolts at the marks under the cabinet. Drill a 1-inch diameter hole at the mark for the power plug.
Lift the microwave into position and onto the tabs on the wall bracket. Lower the microwave to lock the appliance on the tabs, but continue holding the appliance. The top of the microwave must align with the vent below the cabinet unless you are using the charcoal filter.
Thread the power cord up through the 1-inch hole on the underside of the cabinet.
Insert the supplied toggle bolts through the holes in the inside bottom of the cabinet and fasten each bolt into the top of the microwave, twisting with a screwdriver, while your helper holds the microwave from below..
Plug in the power cord into the outlet inside the cabinet.
