How to Repair the Board on a Magic Chef Microwave

The control board on your Magic Chef microwave is housed on the control panel of the unit. The control panel, on the right side, is used to control all aspects of the microwave, including to setting cook times, microwave power and a variety of other selections. If the control board fails, the microwave will not function properly, if it functions at all. To regain use of your Magic Chef microwave, remove the control board and install a new one.

  Unplug the microwave from its wall outlet before servicing.

  Remove the screws from the top of the grille on the top of the front of the microwave, above the microwave door and control panel. Tilt the grille forward and remove.

  Remove the screw at the top of the control panel securing the panel to the microwave.

  Tilt the control panel forward and remove the wire connectors from the control board, which are on the rear of the control panel. Label the wires for reference during reinstallation if necessary.

  Remove the control panel from the microwave and discard.
- 6
  Connect the wire connectors to the new control board and install the control board in the microwave. Secure the control panel to the cabinet using the screw that was removed.

  Replace the grille and secure it in place using the mounting screw.

  Restore power to the microwave to complete the replacement of the control board.
