Determine the location of the wall studs using the stud finder and mark the spots with a pen or pencil.
Press the metal mounting plate supplied with the appliance against the wall to align the holes in the plate over the wall studs. Draw an X in each hole for the mounting plate to mark the locations for drilling. Mark through the holes in the plate where it fits against the underside of the cabinet, as well.
Drill pilot holes at the pencil marks on the wall and bottom of the cabinet. Cut a separate hole, at least 1 inch in diameter, near the bottom back of the cabinet for the appliance electrical cord.
Fasten the mounting plate to the back wall with the toggle bolts in the hardware package that comes with the appliance.
Attach the microwave to the mounting plate. Get a friend to assist in lifting the appliance into position. Raise the damper on the microwave to fit inside the vent opening at the bottom of the cabinet. Have your assistant continue holding the microwave for the next step.
Add a metal washer to each of the sheet-metal screws in the bag of hardware supplied with the appliance. Twist the screws through the inside of the cabinet with a screwdriver down into the holes on the top of the microwave until tight. Your friend can now let go of the appliance.
Insert the end of the electrical cord through the hole in the back of the cabinet. Grab the plug from inside the cabinet and connect to the electrical outlet.
