How to Change the Light Inside the Microwave Oven

Some microwave ovens are built with a removable glass or plastic lens covering the inside light bulb. If your microwave has this feature, you can replace the interior light yourself when it eventually burns out. Microwaves with a sealed light fixture can only be repaired by a trained technician, as replacing the bulb involves opening the cabinet and coming into contact with parts that carry high voltage. Look inside your appliance to locate the cover plate, which is held in place by a tab or screw. If you have either type of fastener, you can change the bulb.
