Removing Surface Scratches From a Black Microwave

While white microwaves might show dirt and grime more than black microwaves, black microwaves might show scratches and marks more easily. A surface scratch on the sleek black design of your microwave can be very noticeable and take away from the kitchen aesthetics. Light scratches can be carefully reduced or removed to get the microwave looking sleek and all black once more.

Instructions

    • 1

Wet a soft sponge and wipe down the surfaces of the microwave. Allow the microwave to dry.

    • 2

Apply some kitchen cleaner to the sponge or use cleaning wipes to wipe the microwave surface clean. Allow to dry.

    • 3

Place a small amount of car wax (ideally one labeled for dark colors) to the scratches.

    • 4

Use a clean soft cloth to buff out the scratches. Work the wax into the scratches using a circular motion. Repeat as needed until scratches are removed or minimized.

    • 5

Wipe off excess wax with a clean towel or cloth.
