How to Disable the Self-Cleaning in a Whirlpool F9 Oven

The Whirlpool F9 oven includes a self-cleaning feature that eliminates the need to manually clean up accidental spills and baked-on food. You can set this feature to a variety of times for automatic cleaning cycles. If you no longer wish to use the self-cleaning feature, you can manually disable the setting through the oven's control panel. Once this feature is disabled, you will have to wash the oven's interior by hand.

Instructions

    • 1

Press "Start" for five seconds until the oven beeps once and "Loc" disappears from the oven's display screen.

    • 2

Push "OFF/Cancel" below the Upper or Lower label on the control panel to disable the self-clean feature in either oven.

    • 3

Hold "Start" to enable the lock feature, which displays "Loc" when the control panel is disabled from touch commands.

    • 4

Open the oven's door once the lock icon disappears from the control panel, which indicates that the oven has cooled down completely and is safe to open.
