How to Remove a GE Microwave Door

GE is a multinational company that manufactures a wide variety of products, ranging from engines to kitchen appliances. One GE kitchen appliance found in most homes is the microwave. These are convenient cooking appliances, but they require periodic maintenance, such as cleaning. If you want to thoroughly clean your microwave, it is much easier if you remove the door.

Instructions

  Power off your microwave and unplug it.

  Open the microwave door and insert the tip of your putty knife under the border of the rubber inner-door trim. The trim is held in place with clips.

  Pry the trim from the clips to remove it. This will also expose the inner-door screws.

  Remove all the inner-door screws with your screwdriver.
- 5
  Remove the screws on the top and bottom outside door hinges.
- 6
  Remove the microwave door from its hinges and off the microwave.
