# Directions for a Garbage Disposal
Garbage disposals make cooking and waste disposal easy by grinding up organic matter and sending it through the sewer instead of the trash. - Ice
- Lemon sliced into quarters

Run cold water down the sink.

Turn on the garbage disposal, making sure hands and utensils are not inside.

Slowly place food into the disposal and wait for the food to clear before adding more.

Turn off the garbage disposal but keep the cold water running for 30 seconds.

Turn off the water.
Cleaning

Turn on the cold water first and then the disposal.

Feed 5 cups of ice down the drain.

Follow the ice with a quartered lemon.
