How to Reset Your Insinkerator Garbage Disposal

Your Insinkerator garbage disposal is equipped with a feature that shuts the device off if utensils or other objects are jammed within it. This automatic shut off is a safety feature that protects the blades and the disposal's other internal parts. If you don't hear the blades turning or you hear a humming sound coming from the disposal, the automatic shut-off feature is engaged. Before resetting it, you need to remove whatever caused it to jam.
