How to Install an Insinkerator Garbage Disposal

Insinkerator disposals come in a variety of styles and strengths. Basic disposals are 1/2 horsepower while the professional models range from 3/4 to 1 horsepower. The professional models are better for the environment and your plumbing because they grind the waste up to three times, virtually liquifying the food. No special skills are required to install the disposal, which should take about an hour.

Connect the disposal's drain with a bolt or nut, depending on your model.
