# How to Remove a Hotpoint Wash Tower
When making repairs to the spray arm or pump on the Hotpoint dishwasher, you need to remove the spray or wash tower. This is the portion of the lower spray arm that extends during the wash cycle. It provides the water to clean the dishes in the upper rack for models without upper spray arms. Removing a Hotpoint wash tower does not require tools, although removing the spray arm might, depending on the model.

Turn off the circuit breaker to the Hotpoint dishwasher. Open the dishwasher door and slide the lower dish rack out of the unit.

Lift the top of the spray tower with your fingers and extend it fully. Hold the spray tower with one hand while grasping the base of the tower, where it connects to the spray arm, with the other.

Turn the spray tower clockwise until it releases from the spray arm. Take the spray tower out of the dishwasher.

Remove the bolt in the center of the spray arm with a socket wrench. Lift the spray arm off the pump hub and out of the dishwasher.
