How to Replace a Frigidaire Dishwasher Hinge

If your Frigidaire dishwasher door falls off the door hinges when you open it, you most likely have door hinges that are either broken or have loose tension screws. Once the door is taken off the dishwasher, you can remove the door hinges to inspect them for damage. If the door hinges are extremely bent or broken, you can order new door hinge parts from Frigidaire or from an online retailer.

Instructions

  Turn off the electrical power to your Frigidaire dishwasher from your kitchen circuit breaker.

  Open the dishwasher door, then remove the two screws from both bottom sides of the inner door using a Phillips screwdriver.

  Close the door all the way so that it latches. Grasp both sides of the door, and pull down to dislodge the door.

  Lift the door towards you to fully remove it from the dishwasher. Unhook the door springs from each hinge by pulling them off the hooks.

  Remove the tension screws on the door hinges using a 5/16-inch nut driver. Lift up both of the door hinges, and remove them.

  Place new door hinge parts onto each bottom side of the door, and reinsert the tension screws back into the hinges.

  Reinsert the hooks to the door hinges, then place the door back on the hinges.

  Push the door all the way in so that it latches, then open the dishwasher door again.

  Reinsert the two screws into the inner panel, then close the door. Turn the electrical power back on from the circuit breaker.
