Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the electrical breaker for the circuit that will operate the Kenmore Ultra dishwasher’s power.

    • 2

Set the dishwasher onto a flat piece of cardboard from the shipping box. This will prevent your floor from being scratched when you move the unit into place.

    • 3

Slide the drain hose that's connected to the dishwasher into the drain hole in your cabinetry that feeds to your kitchen sink. The hole is usually close to the back of the wall and will be on the side panel of your cabinet. The hole leads from the spot where the dishwasher will be placed to the area underneath your kitchen sink; it's a cutout in the cabinetry.

    • 4

Gather the electric wires from the electrical box located against the back, or side, of the cabinet space. There should be a black wire, white wire and grounding wire. Lay the wires on the ground in the cabinet space where the dishwasher will be placed.

    • 5

Scoot the dishwasher back into place. Gather the electric wires that you laid out in Step 4, then pull them out from the space under the dishwasher. The dishwasher doesn't rest on the floor, so you'll have access to the wires underneath it.

    • 6

Turn the leveling legs counterclockwise to raise the dishwasher up to meet the cabinet top.

    • 7

Screw the mounting brackets into the countertop. Two mounting brackets are attached to the dishwasher’s top. Insert the screws and use a Phillips screwdriver to drive them into place. If you don't have holes already in the countertop, you'll need to drill two holes where the mounting brackets line up to the countertop.

    • 8

Attach the drain hose to your garbage disposal, or kitchen drain line, then tighten the clamp on the hose with a flat-head screwdriver. The hose will slide over the end of the drain line, then you'll tighten the clamp.

    • 9

Pull the electric line wires through the hole in the dishwasher’s junction box and tighten the strain release nut that will hold the wires in place. The junction box will be underneath the dishwasher and is made of metal.

    • 10

Connect the white wire from your home to the white wire that runs from the dishwasher, then connect the black wire to the black wire. Attach them using wire nuts on the tips of the wires.

    • 11

Slide the ground wire around the screw on the junction board, then tighten the screw to secure it.

    • 12

Line up the cover plate over the top of the junction box, then screw it into place.

    • 13

Attach the water supply line that runs from your home to the water valve underneath the dishwasher. Twist the connection bolt to secure it. You may need a wrench to ensure that it's tight.

    • 14

Line the kickplate up to the bottom of the dishwasher, then screw it into place. The kickplate is included with your dishwasher.

    • 15

Turn the water supply on to the dishwasher, then flip the breaker switch to provide power to the appliance. The water supply knobs are usually underneath the kitchen sink.
