Switch off power to your Kenmore dishwasher at the circuit breaker before attempting to open up the appliance. Unlatch the door then take out the screws on the upper edge behind the control panel with a screwdriver. Be sure to save all of the hardware. Pull gently on the front top edge of the control panel to tip it forward. A black plastic cover on the back of the panel should pop off with gentle force from a flat head screwdriver. The fuse is clipped to a socket on the back of the control panel near the right and attached by two wires to a power socket.
Pry off the fuse clip from the edge of the control panel at the back with the flat head screwdriver. With the fuse disconnected from the control panel, cut the two wires close to the back of the fuse with wire cutters. Leave the other end of each wire connected to the wiring harness. Strip 1/4-inch of insulation from the end of each wire with wire strippers.
Insert the two wires into the two holes on the plug for the new fuse supplied in the kit. Hold the wires firmly in the holes and secure them by tightening the screw on top of each wire. Slide the new fuse into its socket on the back of the control panel and clip the fuse assembly onto the edge of the control panel in the same way the old fuse was attached.
Replace the back cover over the wiring and electronics on the rear of the control panel and snap the cover into position. Now you can raise the control panel so it is flush with the dishwasher door. Secure the control panel to the door with the screws through the mounting holes in the back of the door art the top. Close your Kenmore dishwasher before restoring power at the circuit breaker.
