My Bosch SHU9925 Does Not Fill

If your dirty dishes are piling up because your Bosch model SHU9925 consumer dishwasher will not fill with water, you might be able to fix the problem on your own. However, if an internal component is the cause of the problem, you may need to make a service call unless you can do the repair on your own.
  1. Water Supply

    • One reason your dishwasher will not fill with water is a problem with the household water supply. The water may be turned off or disconnected for your home. Test the water supply in the home by turning on a faucet. If you get no water, you should contact your water provider to determine why your home currently has no water.

    Leaking Water

    • If your washer is not filling, look in the bottom of the dishwasher to determine whether any water has collected in the bottom. If so, manually remove as much of it as you can, such as with a cup or dish towels. Once the water is removed, you should look for a leak because this usually means your dishwasher has a leak that is causing the fill problem. Once you identify and fix the source of the leak, your dishwasher should fill properly. You may need the assistance of a plumber or dishwasher service technician.

    Bad Water Level Switch

    • If the water level switch in your dishwasher is malfunctioning, it can result in the unit not filling. This is an internal component. If you are not a qualified appliance repair technician, you may want to consult a professional to assist you. If you have performed this repair before, you can replace the piece on your own. Power off the dishwasher so that you can replace the faulty piece. Unscrew the two screws on the left trim strip, located at the top and bottom. Slide the trim strip up to remove it. Lift the front corner of the left side panel to pull it away from the dishwasher. Once you get it at 45 degrees, you can lift it off the dishwasher to reveal the internal components. The water level switch is on the right.

    Faulty Water Valve

    • A faulty water valve can also result in the dishwasher not filling. Like the water level switch, this is an internal component that may be best replaced by a qualified professional. If you are comfortable replacing it on your own, you may attempt to do so. The water valve is easier to access than the water level switch. Power off the dishwasher so you can safely replace the water valve. It is accessible from the front by removing the toe kick panel. This is accomplished by tilting the door outward and sliding the panel down. The water valve is located on the lower left by the leveling leg. The two mounting screws have to be removed for you to access the valve for replacement.

    Other Internal Components

    • It is possible that a different internal component is responsible for your dishwasher failing to fill with water. A qualified service professional can run a diagnostic test on the dishwasher to determine the cause of your problem. Once identified, the professional can offer advice or repair the appliance for you.
