When the dishwasher does not do anything, you may have a problem with the power supply. Check to see if a household fuse is blown or circuit breaker is tripped. Depending on the age of your home, it has either a fuse box or a circuit breaker box. A tripped breaker needs to be reset and a blown fuse needs to be replaced.
The dishwasher does not function properly if the door is open. It may look closed, not be latched. For this reason, open it and give the door a firm close. If it was ajar before, even slightly, it should work now.
The motor in the dishwasher can get overloaded. When this happens, the machine stops working. Once it cools down, it automatically resets itself and restarts your cycle. If this does not happen, you have a faulty motor component that needs serviced. Consult with a qualified dishwasher technician to get it diagnosed and fixed.
The dishwasher has a shut-off valve that can result in no water supply to the unit if tripped. You can remove the lower access panel on the dishwasher to see the valve. Turn the valve counterclockwise to open. If the valve is already open, you may be having a household water supply problem. Test a faucet to determine if you have any water. If not, contact your water supply provider.
