Bosch Dishwasher Circuit Board Removal

Bosch Home Appliances is a division of the German company Bosch and Siemens Home Appliance Group. Bosch has been producing German-engineered, residential appliances for United States customers since 1991. The company offers an extensive line of built-in dishwashers. When your Bosch dishwasher malfunctions, knowing how to remove the circuit board can come in handy. Almost anyone can remove a circuit board from a Bosch dishwasher, but some owners may find the disassembly process a bit intimidating. Consult an appliance repair professional if you are uncomfortable with this type of repair.
  1. Safety First

    • As with any major appliance, there is a risk of serious injury or death if the dishwasher is disassembled while connected to an electrical supply. Play it safe by disconnecting the dishwasher from its power source before beginning the disassembly process. If your Bosch dishwasher has a power cord, unplug it from the wall outlet. You can also disrupt the electrical supply to the appliance from the main electrical service panel in your home. Locate the circuit breaker switch that corresponds to the dishwasher and flip it to the "Off" position until your repairs are completed.

    Outer Door Removal

    • Bosch dishwashers feature an outer door that is mounted to the inner stainless steel door. This outer door must be removed in order to remove the fascia assembly and free the circuit board. Lower the dishwasher door to the fully open position. There are three T-20 Torx screws on each side of the inner stainless steel door; remove the screws and reserve them for reassembly. Return the door to an upright position, but don't latch it. Pull the bottom of the outer door toward you and slide it down to separate it from the inner door. You can lean the removed outer door against a wall until you're ready to replace it.

    Fascia Assembly Removal

    • In Bosch dishwashers, the fascia frame assembly houses the power switch, door latch and circuit board components. Removing the fascia assembly to access these components is simple. There are six T-20 Torx screws that secure the fascia to the inner stainless steel door; take the screws out and set them aside. Slowly fold the fascia down to access the wiring connectors on the back of the assembly. Press the locking tabs on the wiring connectors to detach them from the circuit board.

    Circuit Board Removal

    • After the fascia has been removed from the dishwasher, you can take the circuit board out of the back of the assembly. Lay the fascia assembly face-down on a flat surface. To protect the fascia from scuffs or scratches, cover the work surface with a towel or soft cloth. There are three locking tabs along the bottom of the circuit board; press the tabs to release them. Pull the circuit board free of the fascia assembly.
