Mounting a Dishwasher to Corian

One of the final steps for installing a dishwasher is mounting it in the brackets below the countertop. The mounting brackets are important as they hold the dishwasher in place and prevent it from moving during operation or when opening and closing the door. If you have a solid countertop, such as granite or Corian, drilling into the counters may cause damage to the counters themselves. If possible, provide the countertop installer with the dimensions of the dishwasher mounting brackets to drill the holes. If there are no holes, use a dishwasher mounting system designed to secure the dishwasher to a solid surface.

Instructions

    • 1

Clean the underside of the countertop with rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth. Ensure that the counter is completely dry before proceeding.

    • 2

Follow the installation instructions provided with the dishwasher to connect and install the appliance. Do not move the dishwasher completely under the counter.

    • 3

Install the dishwasher mounting brackets on top of the dishwasher. In most cases, the brackets slide into the top of the dishwasher and have a tab that must be bent with a pair of pliers to secure it in place.

    • 4

Place one of the dishwasher mounting kit plates on one of the dishwasher brackets then install the Phillips head screw included with the kit through the underside of the bracket and into the plate to secure it to the bracket. Repeat for the other side of the dishwasher.

    • 5

Move the dishwasher into the cabinet then adjust the leveling feet so the plate is just below the counter.

    • 6

Scoot the dishwasher slightly out from under the cabinet then peel the adhesive backing partially off of the top of each plate.

    • 7

Move the dishwasher back under the counter and ensure that the front is level.

    • 8

Remove the adhesive backings from the two plates then squeeze the plates against the counter for at least 30 seconds.

    • 9

Install a clamp on each plate to secure it to the countertop. Allow the clamp to remain in place for at least five minutes.

    • 10

Mount the bottom kick plate of the dishwasher with the screws included with the plate to secure it in place.
