Shut off the electrical power to your Frigidaire dishwasher at your kitchen circuit breaker.
Turn off the water supply valve below the kitchen sink. Remove the screws from the bottom access panel using a Phillips screwdriver, and then lift off the bottom access panel.
Disconnect the water supply at the bottom inlet valve by using an adjustable wrench. Remove the screws from the terminal plate and lift off the plate.
Unscrew the yellow cap on top of the wires and loosen the screws from the grounding wire.
Pry the strain relief nut from the wires with a flat-head screwdriver. Pull the wires out of the terminal.
Disconnect the drain hose from the garbage disposal below your sink using an adjustable wrench. Push the drain hose through the cabinet toward the dishwasher.
Open the dishwasher door and remove the mounting screws connecting the top of the dishwasher to the countertop.
Pull the dishwasher away from the cabinet, and then lower the dishwasher onto its backside on a flat surface.
Disconnect the wires from the black drain pump and the bottom of the dishwasher. Pull out the drain hose and water inlet hoses from the pump.
Remove the mounting screws from the drain pump, and then lift out the pump from the unit.
Unscrew the eight torx screws from the pump outlet on the top of the pump using a torx driver, and then lift off the pump outlet.
Pull off the pump outlet seal, unscrew the washer impeller screw using an adjustable wrench and lift up and remove the impeller screw.
Remove the three torx screws from the separator and take off the separator. Lift up the drain cover seal and the check ball will be accessible on in the small tub on the top side of the pump.
Pull out the small white check ball, and inspect it for any damage, such as cracks. Replace the ball if it is broken, and make sure you place the ball in the center of the tub.
