How to Reset a GE Adora Washer's Settings

GE's Home Depot-exclusive line of Adora appliances focuses on integrated technology and contemporary style. In the past, Adora washers enabled you to save your settings via the “My Cycle” feature, but you'd have to press a button to recall these settings -- the washers automatically defaulted to the standards. But GE's top-loading 2013 Adora-series washers automatically recall the custom cycle settings you've saved via their “My Settings” feature. On these washers, you'll have to enter a button combination to reset the settings to default.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "My Settings" button for 1/2 second before starting your wash. You'll see the heat-shaped status icon and button lights turn off. This resets the cycle settings to default for one load.

    • 2

Press and hold the "My Settings" button for three seconds once again after the lights have turned off to permanently reset to the standard settings -- at least until you decide to enter new custom cycle settings. The status icon and button lights will turn back on to indicate a successful reset.

Reset the Delay Wash and Variable Signal options manually, if you've been using them, to totally restore the washer's default settings -- using the My Settings button does not affect these options. Hold the "Delay Wash" button for three seconds to turn it off. Press the "Variable Signal" button to select your desired setting for the cycle signal's volume. Each press changes one step in volume level, from high to medium to low to off.
