Use a commercial rinse aid to provide optimum drying results without streaks and water droplet marks. Open the dishwasher door. Press the star on the rinse agent dispenser cover with your index finger, then pull on the tab with your thumb to open the compartment.
Add rinse aid into the compartment until the level indicator turns black. Do not add more than is required, or your glasses will not be as clean as they should be.
Turn the rinse agent regulator setting indicator to the setting you want to use. Select a lower number if you see streaks on your glasses after washing them. Select a higher number if you see water spots. The settings are numbered from 1 to 6, so if your current setting is 5, lower it at least one or two levels if you see streaks on your glasses. If the setting is currently at 3, increase it at least one or two levels if you see water spots on your glasses.
Select a heated, timed drying setting instead of the air-drying setting. A heated drying setting drys glasses faster and reduces the appearance of streaks and water droplet marks.
Arrange glasses properly so your dishwasher can clean them efficiently. Place glasses upside down with the stems, if they have them, resting in the "V" of the upper side shelves on the top rack.
Use a powder or liquid detergent that doesn't contain a drying agent additive, which can cause streaks and water droplet marks. Use only automatic dishwasher detergents. Push the release tab on the detergent dispenser cover to open the compartment. Using the measurement lines in the dispenser, add detergent and close the compartment. Don't add more detergent than required, or the combination of the detergent with soft water may cause etching of glassware.
Open the dishwasher's door and pull out the bottom rack. Turn the locking ring on the upper wash arm clockwise to release it. Pull out the lower wash arm. Check both arms for food particles and debris and clean them if they have obstructions. If the arms are dirty, your glasses won't wash well. Reinstall both arms.
