How to Troubleshoot a Triton XL Dishwasher With No Lights

The GE Triton XL dishwasher has a control panel with keypads for various cycle selections like antibacterial or cookware options, rinse only, china/crystal, delay start, pre-wash, added heat or heated dry enhancements. The control panel also has several status indicator lights that will illuminate according to cycle selections or progress. If none of the lights are working, some investigation is likely needed.

Instructions

    • 1

Check to see if the dishwasher has power or if the power has gone out to more than one appliance. Press the "Start/Reset" button to see if the dishwasher begins to function. If the dishwasher starts to run but none of the lights illuminate, press "Stop/Cancel" twice and then try to reprogram the dishwasher. If the lights illuminate, press "Start/Reset" and allow the cycle to progress.

    • 2

Look at other appliances nearby to see if they have power if the Profile dishwasher does not start working when "Start/Reset" is pressed. If other nearby appliances do not start, turn on or function when buttons are pressed, it is reasonable to assume that the power is out to that area of the home. Reset or replace the fuse or circuit breaker as needed.

    • 3

Open and shut the door firmly, as the lights will not illuminate if the door is ajar.

    • 4

Press the “Start/Reset” pad, as the dishwasher will stop flashing indicator lights after the dishwasher has finished the cycle or the door has been opened following the cycle.

    • 5

Press each desired control pad within 30 seconds of each selection and then press “Start” if the lights were illuminated but go out when controls are being set.
