How to Repair a Loose Handle on a Bosch Dishwasher SHX33A

Over time the handle on your Bosch dishwasher SHX33A may work loose. This is because the screws securing the door handle and the screw threads inside the door handle expand and contract with the heat from the dishwasher. Opening the door just after the dishwasher finishes the cycle may cause the screw to slip out of the handle threads slowly. Repairing a loose handle on a Bosch dishwasher SHX33A requires some disassembly of the dishwasher door.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the circuit breaker that powers the Bosch dishwasher. Although you are not working directly with the electrical components, there are wires near the handle area.

    • 2

Open the dishwasher door fully. Find the Torx screws on the outside perimeter of the door. Remove the Torx screws with a Torx driver.

    • 3

Hold the outer door with one hand and slowly lift the inner door panel with your free hand. The inner door panel will rest against the front of the Bosch dishwasher.

    • 4

Find the screws securing the dishwasher door handle on the inside of the outer door panel. Tighten the screws with a Phillips screwdriver.

    • 5

Lower the inner door panel over the outer panel and secure the two panels together with the Torx screws. Close the dishwasher door and turn on the circuit breaker.
