How to Troubleshoot a Slow Cycle on a Bosch Dishwasher

Although Bosch dishwashers allow you to wash dishes conveniently, slow cycles can be problematic. Not only can they possibly increase energy costs because dishes may likely take longer to wash and dry, dishes washed may not come out as clean as you'd want. Problems that can cause slow cycle problems include cold water, and dirty and clogged wash arms. Knowing how to solve these problems may improve your dishwasher's performance.

Instructions

    • 1

Check the water temperature if your Bosch dishwasher completes the cycle, but the run time is exceptionally long. This usually happens if the incoming water is too cold.

    • 2

Turn on the water faucet closest to the dishwasher, and run it until the water is hot. Turn off the water, and then start the dishwasher to solve the water temperature problem.

    • 3

Open your dishwasher's door. Turn the ring handle a quarter turn counterclockwise, and then lift it out. Pull out the object trap.

    • 4

Remove objects such as bones, glass and toothpicks that may be stuck in the object trap. If it's dirty, hold it under running water to flush out particles, and then reinstall it. Reattach the ring handle.

    • 5

Turn the locking ring holding the upper wash arm in place an eighth-turn clockwise to release the arm. Pull it out, and then pull the lower wash arm gently. The lower arm snaps into place, so pulling it out is simple.

    • 6

Wash both arms to improve washing cycles, and then reinstall them.
