How to Replace a GE Washer Triton Upper Rack Roller

GE Triton dishwashers are built-in models, designed for use in a noncommercial environment. The dishwashers have two racks, one on top of the dishwasher and one on bottom. The racks have four wheels, or rollers, that allow you to move the rack in and out of the dishwasher easily. If one of the wheels breaks, moving the rack in and out of the dishwasher may become difficult. Before replacing the rollers on the upper rack, you must first remove the rack from the dishwasher, which is a tricky job if you are unaware of how to remove the rack stops from the fronts of the sliders.

Instructions

    • 1

Pull the upper dish rack out of the dishwasher, as far as it will go.

    • 2

Insert a flat-head screwdriver in front of the tab on the rear of the rack stop. Bend the tab toward the back of the dishwasher so it clears the underside of the slider, and then twist the rack stop to remove it. Repeat for the other rack stop.

    • 3

Remove the upper rack from the dishwasher.

    • 4

Bend the tab on the wheel support so that it passes the rack support, and then remove the wheel and wheel support.

    • 5

Place the new wheel onto the wheel post, and then snap the tab onto the rack support.

    • 6

Slide the rack wheels back into the slider, and then snap the rack stops back into place.

    • 7

Push the rack fully into the dishwasher, and then close the dishwasher door.
