How to Repair a Clogged Spray Arm in a Bosch Dishwasher

In a Bosch dishwasher, the spray arms have openings that release water into the washer. The force of water pumped by a motor causes the arms to spin and spray water and detergent mixture onto your dishes. If the spray arms are clogged with food, grease and dirt, not only will the dishwashing time likely be longer, your may also see unsatisfactory cleaning results. Cleaning the spray arms is a troubleshooting and maintenance task that you should perform frequently.

      Turn off your Bosch dishwasher if it's running. Open the door and remove everything from the inside.

      Inspect the spray arms for grease and limescale deposits. If the arms are dirty, fill the detergent dispenser with detergent and start the dishwasher without utensils. Use the highest rinsing temperature.

      Open the door when the washing cycle completes. Give the locking ring on the upper wash arm a one-eighth turn clockwise to release the arm.The lower wash arm snaps into place, so pull it up to remove it. Removing the spray arms may vary with different Bosch dishwasher models, so refer to your unit's manual.

      Inspect both arms for food particles and grease that could clog the spray openings. Remove obstructions. Clean the arms with a kitchen appliance cleaner and a soft cloth, then reinstall them
