How to Run a Bosch Dishwasher

Properly loading your Bosch dishwasher results in clean, spotless dishes rather than dishes with stuck-on food particles. Bosch dishwashers come in a wide range of styles, including models with concealed controls, visible controls and custom panels, in a variety of sizes and finishes. No matter what style of Bosch dishwasher you own, you can optimizing the end result by following manufacturer-recommended procedures.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove and discard large food particles from plates and bowls. Soak and scour pans or pots with blackened or burned on food. Rinsing plates, bowls, glasses and silverware is unnecessary since most dishwashing detergents work best when there is some food residue on the dishware.

    • 2

Place cups and bowls facing downward to avoid water from collecting inside. Allow adequate space for the water to reach all surfaces. Avoid damaging delicate dishes or stemware by loading these items without overcrowding them. Place heavily soiled dishes and large items on the dishwasher's bottom rack. Place cups, bowls, glasses, small pots and plasticware on the top shelf. Most Bosch dishwashers have an adjustable top rack to allow more flexibility and to accommodate items with varying heights. Adjust the rack as necessary to accommodate the load.

Add dishwashing detergent to the dispenser on the inside of the dishwasher's door. Close the dispenser by sliding the cover over the open chamber, pressing on the cover's arrow until the cover clicks shut. Bosch specially designed the cover to slide open noiselessly, dropping dishwashing tablets into the center catch. The catch holds the tablet at a higher position in the dishwasher rather than allowing it to fall to the dishwasher's floor.

Add a liquid rinse agent to the rinsing dispenser near the detergent dispenser on the door. Bosch recommends using a rinse aid to minimize spots and optimize drying.

    • 5

Close the dishwasher door and press the "on/off" button. Select the dishwashing cycle that is appropriate for the type of dishware in the dishwasher and the intensity of the cleaning that the dishware requires. For example, Bosch recommends the “power scrub” option for non-delicate dishes with a lot of food residue and the "quick wash" setting for delicate dishes with minimal food residue.

Watch the InfoLight, which projects a red light onto the floor while the dishwasher is operating. Bosch developed this as a means of letting you know that the dishwasher is still on, minimizing the chances of interrupting the dishwasher's cycle. All Bosch dishwashers have three layers of insulation, a quiet filtration system instead of a disposal and a solid, molded base to minimize vibrations and noise, ensuring a nearly silent dishwashing cycle. Once the InfoLight goes off, you know that the dishwasher is finished running.
