My Bosch Dishwasher Drain Hose Is Clogged: How to Remove It

Regardless of whether you have a full size Bosch, a mini or a slimline model, all Bosch dishwashers use drain hoses to empty dirty dish water out into the sewage system. Although Bosch dishwashers have inlet screens on the inside of the cabinets to filter out food debris, sometimes the hoses can become clogged. When this happens, remove the drain hose on a Bosch dishwasher yourself to wash out the clog.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the power for the Bosch dishwasher. Most Bosch models are made to be mounted permanently in place as opposed to portable, so to turn off the power, go to the main circuit breaker and move the switch for the dishwasher to "off."

Locate the hose end at the point underneath the sink where the hose terminates. This will be attached to either the sink tailpiece or the garbage disposal. Loosen the hose clamp using a screwdriver and pull the hose out of position.

    • 3

Loosen the screws on the sides of the kick panel using the screwdriver and remove the kick panel from the bottom of the Bosch dishwasher, just beneath the dishwasher door. The kick panel serves as an access panel for the parts underneath the cabinet. You may need to open the dishwasher door to access the screws on the top of the kick panel.

Locate the other end of the drain hose where it connects to the dishwasher pump at the bottom of the cabinet. Loosen the hose clamp at the end of the hose. Pull the drain hose off the pump.

Remove any clamps or other fasteners that may be holding the hose in place.
