How to Remove the Element in a Kenmore Dishwasher

Kenmore dishwashers rely on heat to clean and sanitize the dishes during the wash cycle. The dishwasher has a metal heating element, located at the bottom of the wash tub, that heats the water used during the wash cycle. After regular usage, the element may become damaged or simply burn out. To determine if the element has failed or if the problem lies elsewhere in the dishwasher, you should remove the element for testing.
