How to Remove a Whirlpool GU1200 Under Counter Dishwasher

Shut off electricity to the GU1200 at the household circuit breaker.

Open the cabinet next to the dishwasher on the side opposite from the kitchen sink. Locate the electrical box inside the cabinet to pull the plug on the end of the GU1200 power cord from the socket.

Turn the water shut-off knob clockwise until tight on the hose from the dishwasher to the pipe beneath your kitchen sink.

Unscrew the clamp connecting the dishwasher's drain hose to the drain pipe under the sink. Pull the hose off the clamp.

Twist the coupler counterclockwise on the end of the water supply hose to the dishwasher where it connects below the sink. Pull off the hose from the end of the coupler. Water will not leak if you have shut off the valve knob completely in Step 3.

Open the door on the appliance and lower it horizontally.

Take out the screws in the brackets around the frame of the Whirlpool where it attaches to the top and sides of the surrounding cabinets.

Pull the GU1200 forward and out of the installation space, pausing to thread the hoses and power cord from the holes in the sides of the cabinet. Once all hoses and the power cord are pushed through the side cabinet walls and are laying behind the GU1200, you can remove the dishwasher from the space for repairs or replacement.
