How to Install Frigidaire Dishwasher Racks

Frigidaire dishwashers have upper and lower dish racks that slide out of the appliance for loading and emptying. Like other dishwasher brands, the racks in the Frigidaire may gradually lose the vinyl coating and begin to rust or break apart. This can leave stains on dishes and eventually cause the racks to stop working properly. Replacement racks are available from Frigidaire or through an appliance repair shop.

Instructions

    • 1

Release the latch at the top of the Frigidaire door to open the appliance and lower the door.

    • 2

Slide out and lift the bottom dish rack to remove from the appliance. The rack is not physically attached to the Frigidaire.

    • 3

Place the new rack on the roller guides on the left and right edges of the door interior and slide into the Frigidaire.

    • 4

Pull out the upper dish rack to locate the curved, U-shaped clips that hold the rack to the sliding rails.

    • 5

Pull each clip off the wire on the rack, using pliers. The old upper rack can now be removed from the Frigidaire.

    • 6

Line up the four prongs that extend from the sides of the new rack with the four holes in the Frigidaire slides. There are two holes in each slide to hold the two prongs on each side of the new upper rack.

    • 7

Rotate each U-shaped clip clockwise on the sliding rails to snap the clip onto the wire of the upper rack. This holds the rack securely.

    • 8

Slide the rack back into the Frigidiare and raise the door to close the appliance.
