How to Troubleshoot an LG Dishwasher Model LDS5811ST With the Error LE

The LG LDS5811ST is a semi-integrated dishwasher that uses a display panel for selecting and controlling the dishwasher functions and to notify users of load status or errors. While an error code is something some users will never see, various error codes occur depending upon the problem that is occurring, such as the error code “LE.” This is a motor error code, which can sometimes be fixed through troubleshooting, but might require professional repair as well.

Instructions

    • 1

Disconnect power to the LG dishwasher and pull out the bottom rack to access the bottom of the dishwasher.

    • 2

Remove the spray arm and the spray arm housing. Remove the seven long screws that hold the sump assembly, which is circular in shape. Lift out the filter and mesh assembly.

    • 3

Look at the impeller, which looks like a fan, for signs of obstruction. Remove any blockages or obstructions from the area.

    • 4

Replace the filter mesh and assembly before returning the screws, spray arm housing and arm, followed by the bottom rack.

    • 5

Restore power and try to select a new wash cycle. Push "Start" to begin the wash cycle if no error codes appear.

    • 6

Disconnect power if the “LE” error returns, which means that there is likely an error with the motor wiring and this requires professional service.
