How to Install a Frigidaire Dishwasher Top Spray Arm

A Frigidaire dishwasher has a spray arm on the bottom and one on the top to circulate the water and more completely clean the dishes. The water is pushed through small ports in the spray arm which pressurizes it so that stuck on food particles can be removed. If you have a Frigidaire dishwasher that is in need of having a top spray arm installed, you can complete the task yourself and save money on a service call from an appliance service technician.

  Pull out the upper dish rack of your Frigidaire dishwasher and lift it slightly to remove it completely. Lay it upside-down on a hard, flat surface.

  Place one of the gaskets that came with the new spray arm on the spray arm shaft attached to the bottom of the dish rack.

  Install the spray arm onto the shaft through the hole in the center of the arm. Ensure that the side of spray arm labeled as the top is facing the bottom of the rack.

  Place the other gasket over the end of the shaft sticking through the spray arm and hand thread the bolt onto the shaft. Tighten the bolt with an adjustable wrench.

  Hold the dish rack with one hand on either side right-side-up. Slide the rack into the dishwasher on its tracks.
