Glass etching involves rough abrasion or roughening on a piece of glass to create a new design. Once you place a design on glass it is there permanently. Etched glass can be used for awards, tabletops and even windows. Etched glass still needs to be cleaned on a regular basis to keep it looking as pristine as it was the day you bought it. Take care when cleaning etched glass to avoid ruining it.

1
Spray a cloth rag with window cleaner.
-
2
Wipe down the surface of the etching. Since glass is etched with either sandblasting or acid etching cream, regular solvents won't harm the design.

3
Scrub areas with excessive fingerprinting or dirt. Etched glass is not as easy to lift materials from as regular glass.

4
Use an old toothbrush to get into small areas of detail on the piece. Dry thoroughly with a soft rag cloth when done to prevent spotting.
