The interior of a Whirlpool dishwasher, just like any other, may become stained from food residue. Spaghetti sauce, oil from fried foods and even drops of red wine from a glass can stain the inner walls and bottom of the Whirlpool, especially if you do not wash dishes every day and the stains are left to set. A common technique for removing dishwasher stains involves running a cycle with either bleach or white vinegar. Choosing a cleaning solution depends on your tolerance for the smell of chlorine versus vinegar, although either will work.
