# How to Fill Up the Cascade in a GE Monogram Dishwasher
Cascade is a dishwasher-detergent and rinse-aid brand suitable for use in GE Monogram and other modern dishwashers. The detergent compartment of a Monogram dishwasher needs replenishing at the start of each cycle, while the rinse aid lasts approximately a month. Without detergent or rinse aid, dishes and glassware will not be cleaned properly, causing spots or film to appear. Make a habit of refilling your detergent and rinse-aid compartments on a regular basis.

Open the dishwasher door as wide as it will go, so the detergent and rinse-aid compartments are parallel with the floor.

Slide the latch over the large square detergent compartment to flip open the lid. Twist the cap off the rinse-aid holder.

Pour rinse aid into the compartment with the circular lid until the plastic indicator window shows full.

Add a detergent tablet or pour the appropriate amount of detergent into the rectangular compartment. Check the label of your detergent for the right amounts.

Close the detergent cover until it latches shut. Replace the rinse aid cover and turn until it locks into position. The dishwasher is ready to run.
